Default Is this a big no-no?

Okay, I just hooked up a dry kit to my brand new G8 Gt. I know that probably isn't the best idea in the first place but it had to be done. I went to spray it and my car didn't go faster, it kinda bogged and sounded like it was gonna blow up. My computer freaked and put the car into some saftey mode and I had to limp home at about 20 mph. I deleted the codes it pulled and it's fine now but damn that was scary. Anywy, the nitrous didn't work right. I checked all my connections and they are good and everything looks like it should work. I think were I messed up is that I have the lines pointing directly at the MAF instead of straight up and down like they would normally be if you bolted them into your intake. It's hard to explain but I have a Volant intake on the car which has a huge circular filter. I hollowed out the middle of the filter and put the nozzles in there so they are facing the maf directly....IS that bad?

Ya it can't point directly at the MAF. What you just did was freezed the wires on the MAF causing the car to act the way it did. There is a certain way to direct a dry kit nozzle I just dont know how. I've always used wet kits, but I have heard with a dry kit, nozzle placement is critical.
