Nitrous
I am new here but have a basic question concerning use of nitrous on a relatively stock LS6....how much is a "safe" amount to add reliably. I have an LS6 manifold now and have seen aftermarket manifolds with direct port injection nozzle bosses. Does direct port injection offer more power? Why? THX
Im by far no expert, just started in the juicing game too. A lot of reading material out there. If you're shooting for the 500hp range, I believe direct port would be a waste of money. A good plate system will generally max around 250shot. That would be what I would look into in your position.
A DP is over kill for what you are wanting to do. DP's are for 250-500+ shot of juice. You can find some nice plate kits or a TB ring like TNT out there for pretty cheap. Just get all the things for it to work correctly.
A 100 shot can kill a motor if it is not working propperly. Like going lean.

Agreed JR....not understanding nitrous due to inexperience is why I am asking. I wasn't sure if direct port injection helped with distribution..even at low HP levels....potentially minimizing lean condition?
The simple truth is dollars will drive my final choice....if I can find a truly great deal on a direct port NOS setup,I will seriously consider. I've been pretty lucky so far with finding a crate LS6 ($1700) and freshly rebuilt Stage 3 T-56 ($1000) so I feel I am ahead of the $$$ curve.
