I have a 125 wet shot on my H/C/I 03 Z06, my question is are these kits rated as flywheel hp or rwhp? I p/u 75 whp and 101 wtq with a 125 shot, that seems a little low to me. Granted my bp was not the greatest ~925 (BTW, the Zex bottle heater blows!!), but I would have thought to gained atleast 100whp? any ideas?? Any suggestions?

 

I've been wondering the same thing. I just got rid of my TNT kit, which I sprayed 150 that hit really hard every time. Now that I'm putting on a Victor JR intake, I went with a zex plate system. I'm wondering what size jets I'm going to need to use to be able to get about the same effect. I'll start with a 100 for tuning purposes, but I'm wondering if I'm going to have to bump it all the way up to a 200 shot just to feel the same thing as the 150 I was using on my TNT kit. I'm pretty sure they're rated at the flywheel, but bottle pressure has a lot to do with any kit

 

What brand of nitrous are you using? Is the jets from the same company? What are the jetting size, as in the Nitrous jet is .58 and the fuel jet is a .29?

 

Zex is rated at the flywheel. Your BP is about right for the Zex system, [925-975] but you do seem a bit light on the HP.

What was your A/F ratio on the bottle? Jetting recommendations from the manufacturer are just that. Recommendations. You may need to go up or down a couple fuel jets to obtain an optimum AFR

 

The Zex kits are rated at the flywheel and their kit are also designed to run at 900-950PSI bottle pressure.

What was your AFR on the bottle?? We like to see an AFR of 11.4-11.8
Depending on your AFR you might need to go up or down on the fuel side to get the AFR that you are looking for.

AFR was a little on the rich side at 10.7, and I did not have enough jets to dial it in the way I wanted. The only jets I had while on the dyno were the ones "recommended" by Zex. Started out with a 100 shot and then went to 125. While using the recommended jets for the 125 shot, my AFR was 10.1, I then put the fuel jet for the 100 in to get the 10.7. Sorry guys, don't recall the actuall jet sizes, I think I ended up with a .58 N20 and .30 for fuel.
Had I of known, I would have ordered a pletheora of jets to dial it in...noob mistake!!

I may go back to the dyno with some more jets, or I may just scrap the nozzle and get a plate!!
Do you think the lack of hp is in my A/F being on the rich side?

 

That's not a little rich, it's way rich. I would go with a 58/27, and that should help get you to the mid 11's. That's heading in the right direction, and should help you start making the advertised power.

 

10.7 is way fat, get her to mid 11's and you'll pic up a bit
