Looking at getting some nitrous for my car. Its a 1996 Chevrolet Camaro with the 3.8. Here's the tricky part. I want to put nitrous on it and at the same time want the nitrous to be able to work with my ls1 swap i plan on doing in 2 years after college. Which system should i get and whats better dry or wet nitrous? I have a lt1 1le elbow with a moroso cold ait intake can you do something with nitrous on the elbow or something like that or tap a port hole for my throttle body?

Honestly, I would wait. If it's your daily, you don't want something happening to it before you're ready for the swap. Save your money, and accumulate parts, then go together with it and surprise some folks.

Wait untill you do your swap.

3.8's on nitrous are very sad creatures. I put a 100shot on a friends 99 3.8 and it was still a dog.

My 3.8 screamed on a 120 wet shot.

Trust me, you don't want to get into the whole wet vs dry debate on here. Just pick one. A dry system will be physically easier to install on a 3.8 due to the simplicity of nozzle placement. Then of course you'll need to deal with tuning and larger injectors. A wet shot will be a bit more difficult to place the nozzle because of the integrated TB/MAF design. The only usable place for a wet nozzle is in the throttle body directly under the MAF (this is where I placed mine). Tuning for the wet on a 3.8 is a bit easier with some dyno time or a wideband and some good logging software.

His lost to a Grand Prix GTP shortly after we put it on there. Stock converter + having to wait till 3k to spray was pathetic.

well i think i might go with this kit

http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...roduct_id=2891

Dave from nitrous outlet said that this kit was good for the money and what i am wanting. How much does a 10lb bottle usualy cost to fill and i would want to mount it in the spare tire area so it is hidden if possible. Does any body make something for it to mount there or have any pictures of something ya'll have made?

I think the norm is around 40 for a fill. 860 performance makes the spare tire mount.

Yeah, I think 3 for the lt1 kit, but you're gonna have to do holes for pretty much anything as there is not alot of hardware back there. Some make their own, but they are still bolted down.

My stock 3.8 takes 24 lbs. of boost and a 100 shot

Just get a universal EFI wet kit. It'll work on both. Only thing you may have to change is brackets for the WOT switch after you swap.
