Large cam + nitrous + stock fuel system??
Large cam + nitrous + stock fuel system?? Sup, me and a buddy are thinking about putting nitrous in his car, he has a custom grind cam that has lift on both ends of .610ish give or take a few. The only fuel mods he has are 42 lb/hr injectors, would it be safe to run say a 75-100 shot on a properly tuned car? His car is a DD and it has 81k miles and so far has not given him a single problem. Thanks for any advice guys
stock fuel pump only supports like 37lb injector.
(190lph pump = 3,166.66667 cc per minute = 301.3 lb per hour / 8 injectors = 37.6lb)
if you're going by the common calculations everyone else goes by for how much hp that supports...
37.6lb injector * .8 duty cycle max
_______________________________ x8 injectors = 481.28hp (at the crank?)
.5 bsfc (properly tuned as you say)
if you're feeling really reckless and you want to push that ancient fuel pump past 80%... maybe 600 crank or 500rwhp. someone please correct me if i'm overlooking something.

I am happy with a stock pump on a 100+ shot with small cam or stock. Plenty of people talk about upgrading the pump in that situation. I would certainly spend the money on a good fuel pump especialy since it is his DD. Pushing your luck too far without it!!!!
