Default Why am I so scared?

Guys why the hell am I so scared to use nitrous for the first time? I think its the engine failure thing that is holding me back from hitting that arming switch. Do I have a less chance of engine failure if I install 50hp jets to start off? Right now I have my 100hp jets in.

Did you go get a tune or have your tune tweeked for the bottle? You should spray it for the first time on the dyno with your tuner guy sitting in the driver seat. Don't just go out and spray it lol. It's not going to blow you head off like in the f&f bullshit btw. To be honest, I was disappointed years ago when I sprayed just a 75 shot for the first time. I went back home and put he 125 pills in there. Now I'm up to 150 lol. It's like crack man...Run away now while you have a chance.

I hear its like crack lol. I got a window switch, wot switch, new plugs, adequate fuel pressure. Sent out the pcm to get a mail order tune from Frost. Had 4 degrees of timing pulled out.

If you go get it tuned and they say it's set right then toggle that juice and down it! I still have never got to experience a nitrous pull. Was in my buddy's TA with a 125 shot but he said it still wasn't set up right yet

Take that bitch out right now and spray it for just a few seconds and see what happens. Any way to monitor your air/fuel like a guage or anything? I'll be waiting for you to come back smiling your *** off.

Haven't got a a/f gauge yet. Got a nitrous pressure and fuel pressure on the way. A/f ratio gauges are expensive.

I know how you feel. I've had a kit in my car for 2 months and the bottle is still empty. It is going in this weekend for a BAP, 60lb injectors, and the first spray on the dyno.

There is nothing wrong with doing it right the first time.

if you dont know the bottle pressure how are you gonna run it? no point in spraying it at 600 psi......

I dont know the technical crap but can you explain to me why its even more crucial to not engage below 3k with 4 degrees of timing pulled?

Nitrous shouldn't really be engaged below 3k rpms no matter what usually. It will usually load the motor too much and backfire.

sorry i thought you didnt have a gauge, since you said you ordered one. make sure there is good pressure and hit it....obivously you were willing to take the chance of something happeneing or you wouldnt have bought the kti and installed it. Take it out and spray it in like 3rd so you dont have to worry as much about spinning.

If you already have the window switch, set it to come on at 3,000 and go off about 5800 or so before you hit the rev limiter. You don't have to worry about ****. It really has nothing to do with the amount of timing that is pulled. You don't want to spray under 3k at all no matter what, even with a perfect tune. Let us know what happens when the weather clears up. Can't go sleigh riding in a f-body.

start off on the highway 2nd gear around 3200 rpm and pull it to 5000 and shut it down as a starter. in this cold ill be surprised if you dont spin and have to get out of it.

I couldn't wait till I had my HSW set up ready to go..filled bottle..then the fear kicks in! I know the feeling, my ride only had 37,000 miles and knew the wife would kill me if I blew it up. Be brave my friend. This will be the last time you don't want to hit the bottle. All it took was a 75 shoot with good bottle presure and I was hooked!! You will hit it.. smile big..check for trouble lights and odd sounds, then all will be history. Another juice junky has had his first fix. Don't blame us when you go to fill the bottle..again!!!
