Default What do you guys think of my setup?

MOTOR:

347 ci.
11.8:1 comp.
manley forged pistons(3.905, 4cc reliefs)
stock crank/rods
.045 trick flow head gaskets
58cc heads, cnc ported and all hand done(estimated 345 cfm)
2.05 ferrea intake valves
1.600 manley exhaust valves
cam hasnt been chosen yet but plan around a 236/242 612/612 110 lsa
melling high volume
ls7 lifters
ported ls2 intake
90mm TB
everything is portmatched, tb to intake, intake to heads, heads to block. p&p from top to bottom.
stock ls1 fuel system except ls2 injectors and rails
tsp lid and k&n filter
6800 rpm

TRANS:

built 4l60
shift kit
vette parts
deep pan
2 coolers
ptc 3600 lockup(sooo loose, acts like a 4400)

GEARS:

3.23
street tires
(i can usually hit about 1.68 60 foots with these tires)
aluminum drive shaft

NITROUS:

"halo" dry kit(sits under air filter, under lid)
gonna start at 75 shot, but wanting to run a 175

few questions i had.

1.is fuel system sufficient?
2.how fast will it go, e.t. and trap(175 shot)
3.should i run a low pressure safety switch?
4.when should i spray it? gear?, 60'?
5.what plugs would u recommend?
6.what do you think it will do on the dyno?
7.im hoping it will make at least 450 n/a, and would like to see 600+ on juice.

n/a the car goes at best in perfect conditions around 11.20s. just for a starting point

thanks in advance

1. NO.. You need a fuel pump
2. Never Fast Enough!!!
3. Never like the Fuel Pressure switch myself. But some do.
4. You gonna have to play with it to see. If you can get to hook spraying off line, then go for it. May have to spray at top of 1st or wait til 2nd to start spraying. (always spray ABOVE 3K rpm tho)
5. If you gonna be spraying A Lot... BR7 or BR8 (nonprojected plugs)
6. Can Never Tell.......

I see the following issues:

You need a fuel pump

The heads, what are they, I don't like guesstimates, that's pretty much a guarintee fail 99% of the time

Your gearing, is never going to let the car run like it should, I'd be looking to put a 3.73 in that quick

Converter's gonna be junk on the spray if it's already going to 4400 on motor I just about guarintee that

4Ljunkie tranny's don't last long at that power level, better get ready to get on the exchange program with that thing.

fuel pump, i figured, thats why i asked, thanks for clearing that up. which would you suggest?

heads are prc, 5.3 stage 2.5. they were cnc'd already and flow 320 at .600, but now they have bigger intake and exhaust valves and have been opened up alot. as well as chamber work.

i am currently looking to switch to a 3.73

convertor is hopefully gettin swapped for a 4200 spray convertor

and the 4l60 is built to handle 650+ should last a good while

no e.t guesses????

How the car leaves and what it weigh's, when you hit the nitrous, all will impact it alot.

If the car is 3400 and you spray it right out of the hole and thru the shifts, I'd guess it will go 10.2 to 10.8, depends on how hard it leaves.

Racetronix pump with a hotwire should be enough pump, I can't see it needing more

And the tranny, good luck. For every one that stays together there's 1000 that don't at the level you're aiming for.

car leaves real hard for the setup, street tires and 100% stock suspension.

there is a th400 in the works, bc i know even tho its built. its just a band aid. i hate the 60e's.

think with radials and 3.73s, it could go 9s? assuming like a low low 1.60 60'(i have went 1.60s on street tires)

You're not going to do anything until you put a real tire on the car, drag radial at an absolutel minimum, and it's got to be on a 15 inch rim, don't even waste your time with anything else.

Did i see what car, weight?
U havent chose a cam yet but know what it runs n/a?
What mph n/a also?
Street tires wont get u anywhere once spray is added. With that loose of a converter i'm assuming u leave at/ near idle and flash the converter.

You need to get a nitrous converter which will be about 3500 stall size. Go with a good name like Yank, I agree with JLws 6 go with a a 3:73 gear get some 15x10 wheels and skinnies if this is going to be your drag car. If not then go with a MT drag radial 17 on what you have.

On a cam I would spend the money and have a cUstom grind one to match wha you have. Makes a huge difference I personally went with C.M on my set up. Its $400.00 to get a custom one.

Get a fuel pump.

#7 plugs. NON PROJ.

Do you have someone to tune your car?

weighs about 3400
it used to run that with a smaller cam and less compression
went around 120-121 mph
you dont think street tires will hold? i was goin 1.6 60's and 4.9 330's
i stall it to like 2800 off the line.

You WILL NEED Drag Radials on a 15" wheel. My car doesn't even hook on motor on street tires.
Get a racetronix w/hotwire or a walbro 255.
Get a custom cam ground specifically for your setup.
