to start off i am a complete noob when it comes with nitrous
The car is a 95 z28 with a full exhaust and cai thats it
I am looking to run nitrous in the safest way possible. I plan on running a window switch which should help with safety. Idk what kit to get a dry or wet nitrous kit?
also the car is running 41 degrees of timing at WOT, and hasnt been tuned at all since the headers. Do i need to back some timing out to safely run a 100 shot? when i say safely i mean a way that wont blow the motor up or break anything internally.
thanks

Opinion towards safe can go many ways. Using quality products by a company that provides great technical service is a good start.
Since you have a lt1 with stock pcm I would suggest a wet system. It will be much easier to tune with more reliable results.
You could do a single nozzle system or a plate system.
The single nozzle will place a universal nozzle in the cold air intake tube between the mass air meter and throttle body.
The plate will bolt embetween the throttle body and intake manifold, providing a cleaner looking install and supporting higher horse power levels over 200 hp.
Here is a list that discusses the basic accessories.

You may concider a Mallory 685. It will not only increase your ignition spark but it also has a built in window switch and can remove the timing when the nitrous system activates.
If your mod list is current you will need to change your spark plugs to the NGK BR7EF.
If I can answer any questions please let me know.

Dave gave you a lot of good information. Few things I would like to add.
Good safety begins with quality parts. From there you will want to work with people who can accurately answer your questions and help with any tuning headaches. Learning along the way and dealing with a good nitrous company will assure the motor lasts and the car runs hard.
Few questions I have before recommending a setup.
Future plans for the car?
I take it the car is a daily driver? Is the plan to keep it that way?
I ask because if the plan is to possible go FI or big cubes would change my opinion. You will get lots of support for the sponsors here, especially NX. Looking forward to helping you keep the setup safe and still make solid power
