Default stock LT1 and nitrous

Okay guys i am in the process of building a forged 383 but its going to take atleast a year to do. and im getting a little depressed lol

so i need some motivation and since i plan on running nitrous on my new motor i figured i could buy it and put it on and have some fun until my new motor is done and then swap it on the new motor.

now i want to run a 100 wet shot on this motor and i need it to be super safe so i plan on taking every precaution i can.

fuel pressure cutoff
WOT switch
window switch
walbro 255 fuel pump

now will i need to pull timing even tho its only a 100 shot also will i need to go with a colder plug if so which one is best?

also anything els i may be missing?

If you are wanting to be super safe then I would say yeah pull some timing and a colder plug. Go to the dyno and have it tuned on spray.....there is no safer way

To be as safe as you can your gonna need to get it tuned and change the plugs to some BR7EF plugs..thats what i ran in my bolt on n2o formula. With that being said...You can run a 100 shot on a stock tune with out a problem as long as you have the right plugs(NGK-br7ef) in it and other safety stuff you listed.

Yeah with a reputable kit I wouldn't worry with pulling any timing from a stock tuned car. Would just put a good plug in it and a fuel pressure safety switch.

Okay guys thats what i wanted to hear.

and i know i said i want it to be as safe as possible but i would rather not have to have it dynoed because around here its 500-700 and i would rather wait on that for my new motor.

but which kit would you guys suggest?

also i know i can buy a timing retard box to pull timing. Would that be a good thing to do?

how much timing should i pull?

and last. If i run a colder plug will it affect my car when its off the nitrous bescause this car is my daily driver?

thanks again

Put a dry kit on it and run some tr6's and everything will be fine
no need to pull timing when doing this with a 100 shot

Got a couple more questions.

is there a device that will control the timing retard, wot switch, window switch, and gear lockout all in one?

and i know that im not going to spray in first gear. But i been reading that i shouldn't spray in 4th either.

Is that true?
so i can only spray two gears?

i have a performabuilt level 2 with a 3800 stall.

and last i only want to spend 1k on this setup. do you guys think i can do it?

Is there still a need to change the fuel pump for 100 shot

As for only spraying in 2 gears...ive never heard that before I spray my current LS1 car in 1st-3rd gear. Why do you not want to spray it in 1st? You deff dont want to spray it in OD that will surely result in some broken parts.

For the WOT switch, Window Switch and gear lock out you can use the controller that comes with the Nitrous Outlet plate kit. For the timing retard I think you can run the MSD Digital 6 box. Im not 100% on that tho. Might wanna check out the LT1 section and see what they say in there. As far the spark plugs i would go straight to the BR7EF plugs. They wont affect how ur car runs N/A at all. I run these plugs in my LS1 car and ran the same ones in my LT1 car both on stock tunes...do not run the TR6s they are n2o plugs.

Well the reason i dont want to spray in first is because i have a stock 10bolt and i dont think it will hold up if i spray on the line.
Also on the street i wont be able to hook in first.

Now what if i just have the car in drive. Not overdrive. Then will it be okay to spray in 4th?

and that was the system i was looking at but they also offer a complete system that comes with EVERYTHING for 1350.00.

is that kit really that much better than the one for 749.00?

I would do some shopping and see what you can get through them as far as a setup. If the 1350 has everything you need and it would be cheaper to spend the 1350 now do it... if you only need the 750$ kit now and the extras from the other kit wont be more than $600 then your set.

if thats what you meant....
