3800 L36 firebird nos?
bad idea or not? im afraid the motor couldn't handle it. what all would i have to do to make it be able to handle the extra power? i think the previous owner replaced the intake manifold gaskets with RTV sealant because around the place there is some spilled you can tell, not sure though. antifreeze isn't full in the radiator, gonna flush it when the weather warms and check for any leaks. should i keep the RTV or put some replacement gaskets

From my understanding they are pretty robust but have intake/head gasket issues... I'd check out fullthrottlev6.com for more specific info on those.

spray the snot out of it and cross your fingers.
make sure you have some supporting mods before you jump into nitrous. they'll handle it really well but you can't be dumb about it. search around fullthrottlev6.com it's all been done before.

I had a 1998 v6 camaro that I sprayed a 75 shot on for a long time. I used a colder plug and was fine. Just make sure if your doing a wet kit it has to go behind the throttle body due to the fact the maf is built into the throttle body. I just drilled and tapped the tb behind the throttle blade for the nozzle.
