Default Nitrous Bottle Recertification

Two questions.

I have a Cold Fusion 10lb Bottle and someone said I may need to get it re certified?

1) How do you know when the bottle needs to be recertified as safe to fill?

2) How much does it cost and how long does it take to do?

Thanks,

Bill

There's a month/year code stamped into the top of the bottle. Five years after that date, the bottle needs to be hydrotested and recertified. Any welding supply place should be able to get it done for you. Typical quoted turnaround here in California is two weeks (though it's usually a lot less than that) and the last price I heard was $20.

I agree with what Paul said and pretty much anywhere you go it will be anywhere from $15-$30 to get it re-certed.
