Default stock 346 new motor

my mods are fast90/90 ported, power bond ud, hooker LT, stock 243 heads custom cam, comp 918 springs, scorpion rockers, with a fresh rebuilt 346 what is the biggest safest shot i can use and is there a certain brand i should go with and im most likely going to go with a plate system.

You can safely hit it with a 150. Get a Nitrous Outlet 90mm wet plate kit. Lots of my buddies run that plate kit, and it works well. One of them runs a 200 on it through a stock bottom end heads/cam/intake LS1 and has no issues.

Basically Nitrous Outlet, Nitrous Express or Harris Speed (all great companies but I run Nitrous Outlet). Each companies have very knowledgeable tech support which is critical when it comes to the tune up of these motors. As far as how much and how safe of a shot you can run well it's relative to the setup. When you start talking to the vendors they will explain the safety features and such to you and based off how safe and how much money you want to spend things will start making more sense.

FWIW - Several of us are hitting SBE (stock bottom end) cars with well over 200. However we didn't start out that high and we worked our way up slowly.

I would be sure to ask your machine shop how he feels. The motor could have been setup tight on the rings which would not be good.

if in stock like from 150-200 has been done many times and just work your way up and watch the tune

I agree with all in this thread but i have to reiterate what larry said...if it has forged pistons then you need to find out what the rings are gapped too. If it's just a compltely stock rebuild then i'd stick to around 150hp if you want to be on the safer side of the line.
