Default Is it safe to spray with notched pistons????

Hey guys,

A buddy of mine has a GTO with a LS2. He has full boltons, heads and cam running stock GM head gaskets. CR is around 11.2 or so. When the cam was installed the pistons needed to be flycut to have enough PTV clearance. Pistons were notched about .080".

He wants to spray the car using a wet kit with a stand alone fuel system.

Would it be safe to spray the car with those pistons being notched? If so, how much can the car be sprayed? 150? 175? 200?

Thanks

We sprayed up to 250 on one years ago and it lasted a little while but we were not very good at nitrous tuning back then.

Now I would say we could make it live on 250.... Flycut pistons, stock bottom end.

Cool. We just wanted to make sure his car would live on the spray. I figured that notching the pistons would weaken them enough that they'll be prone to breaking or cracking.

Just make sure you relieve any hard edges. Don't want places for cracks or hot-spots to form

As stated already you should be ok to spray the car with flycut pistons jsut make sure you tuneup is correct and the fueling is there.
