Using N20 to roadrace?
I'm talking a 25-50 shot here. IF I ever take it to the drags a 75 shot should put me right close to the legal limit of 11.5.
Right now the car is used occasionally for the street and trips to the road course, just would like to get a little more umph on the straights and with just a 50 shot and wot switch (only gets floored on the straights which are just over a 1/4 mile) I'm thinking that might be just as well as a deeper gear.
Car has c/h cai LT's catback ud dyno tune M6 415rwhp. No current fuel upgrades other then 100 octane-stock injectors/pump.

I used to race with the same group I am with now using my 67 camaro that was setup with a 150 shot. Never used the bottle there as it had things covered with 750hp on the bbc.
But the bottle was always in the car, no one checks, it is a left up to the racer to make sure everything is okay, and I've never heard mention of it being illegal. In fact, no mention of it at all.

I would love the opportunity to setup a custom deal for you. Pretty neat platform. I do not road race much so I am not sure what the rules are on the use tho.
We can do some trick stuff with a progressive controller and in how we activate it.
Give me a call at the shop. I would like go over this.

Finally, someone who thinks like I do! The road-racing guys usually pooh-pooh nitrous, and drag-racing guys usually aren't into drag racing: I think each can be fun, and I have always thought N2O has use in both disciplines. Get 'er done, dbs1!

How long will it last is a great consideration. I'm going to be going to a little steeper gear to help with corner exits and thought that even a 25 shot out of the corners and down the straights would be plenty for the class I run in.
With my former car and in the top street class the only cars (2) that could hang was a factory backed acr viper and a guy with a tt vette z06 out of 20 cars. I raced in that class with this 02 ss and giving up over 250 hp from my former ride I went to the bottom 3 cars.
I switched to the next lower class and am back in the top 4 out of 22, but the next 2 cars I need to jump over. One is a jazzed up 3 series bimmer that I can edge down the straight, but will out accelerate me in the corners and the other a new mustang and we sure as hell can't have that!
I'm hoping that with a small 25 shot and the gears it would be enough to get past both those guys, last a couple of 20 min sessions where I can just switch out bottles if I do 3-4 sessions in a day and not cause any engine damage for the limited time I'm at wot, with it being activated that way.
Is this a plausable idea?

I think your plan sounds good. The key will be to get the jets sized right so that the bottle lasts a full session. I think 25 is too small to bother messing with, but of course the bigger the shot the less time the bottle will last. So I vote for a 50 shot or so.
Yes, I had to laugh at your Mork comment, but the guy does make a good point that a nitrogen push system will ensure that you can use all of the nitrous in the bottle. Nitrogen-assist on a 15lb bottle should last just fine for a full session, and Yes, it does add weight, but if you put your car on a diet in other areas, combined with the increase in horsepower, I think you can beat those 2 pesky cars you mentioned.

I agree I think a 50 shot would be perfect. I also think you would get alot more out of your bottle if you ran a progessive controller. Just tell everyone you have sand in the bottles to help with traction, lol.
