H/C with flycut pistons + 125shot? Hmm...
Time to ante up.
I've started piecing together a wet system for my current H/C/I setup (mods in sig). Currently making 435-440rwhp through a stalled A4. Is throwing a 100-125 shot on the stock shortblock (w/ Katech rod bolts and flycut pistons (.080") treading on thin ice?
The main priority is safety/reliability, so I don't mind spending a bit more on new parts for peace of mind. As such, I'm leaning towards the following (bold indicates I already own):
-Racetronics pump w/ hotwire kit
-92mm plate kit (fuel tapped into rail)
-Purge kit
-Nitrous filter
-Blow down tube
-Electric Nitrous pressure gauge
-WOT and window switch *(need some advice here)*
-Timing controller or resistor mod trick
-Fuel pressure safety switch
Already own a new 10lb bottle, bottle heater, and electric fuel pressure gauge
Before I buy more parts, is this a poor decision to push the shortblock to this power level? Of course it's been done before, but the flycuts make me a bit uneasy.
My biggest area of indecision is with the WOT/window switch/timing controller. My tuner uses hp tuners, so I'm leaning towards the resistor trick (for timing retard) in conjunction with some form of dual WOT(TPS)/window switch product. Which product has these features without costing $250+?
I'd like to be able to run a strong N/A tune 95% of the time, then be able to simply arm the nitrous and have timing pulled for spray. For this reason, the resistor trick has pretty strong appeal.
Whew, I know that was long winded, but I figured the more info you guys have the better. Bring on the wisdom tech'ers.

were making the same power N/A and I'm an A4.. I have a 100 shot for now but only used it briefly on the streets once, but gonna use it more this year when I get the roll bar in.
I use the interface from harris to pull timing when it sprays..I have a standard MSD window switch..All this is through a Dave's 90mm plate

I found Dynotune makes a product that serves as a WOT(TPS) switch, window switch, and multi-gear lockout. Not bad for the money, but I'm considered the HSW Microedge for these functions as well. Unsure on the timing controller for now.

You should be ok spraying the car with a 100-125hp shot. Before spraying you will need to change the plugs to a colder plug like the BR7EF [ NGK Stock# 3346 ]. Also i assume the car has been tuned so you need to make sure and pull the appropriate amount of timing. The list of parts you have will get you a good solid foundation to work off of. We have a nice controller that would suite your window switch needs to a T http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...=26§ion=86 $149.99 and as far as the timing controller goes if you have the opportunity to wait for it i'd suggest getting the Lingenfelter unit. IMO thats the best controller for pulling timing.
Check out the Dual Flash and get it installed and have your tuner set you up an NA tune and a N2O tune.
