Thats more than enough gear. I run a th350 with 3.73's and I spray a 200. I was running that with a 3600 stall and a 26" tall tire. Going with a bigger motor and more spray this year, so I am stepping up to a 28" tire and see how that will do.

If you put too much gear in the car you will be on the limiter before the end of the quarter. Plus you might not be able to spray it off the line because it will overpower the tires at the line. If you are going to run 1/8 mile then thats a different story.

What size tire are you running?

Look for the future, how hard can you safely spin your motor? Take that into consideration down the road because the good old 150 shot wears off quickly and soon you will want to hit it with 200 or greater. In that case 411 will be too much, ask me how i know??? Go with 373 or 389 max and then you will need a 28 in tire anyway to hook that kind of power and the 28 will help off set the ratio as well. I'm not saying just follow the crowd but it has been done many times and a 373, 375, 389 gear with a 28 in stiff wall works.

ya i worded the end of it wrong im not sure if thats too much gear with a 28" tire, and i only plan to run the motor with the 150 shot for a year before i build a different motor and step up the nitrous with a wet shot, is there a calculator or anything to estimate the rpm at the end of the 1/4?

+1 on Carter's advice, but do you want to go faster on motor, or bottle? Nitrous likes tall gears (numerically lower) or tall tires. It also depends on how tight your 4000 stall is too.

I run a 200 shot runing 3:73s but my cam spinns to 7500 running a 28inch tall tire so Im crossing the finish at 6700 rpms but im going up to a 350 shot this summer which will give me room with my gears. I think 4:11s are to low of gear you need a 3:73 to a 3:90 gear. t400 trans.

I'm toying with the same issue. I'm running a 3.42 rear and shooting 200 with a 4000 stall. I plan on shooting a 300 shot this year and was wondering if the 3.42 gears would be cool for that.
