Question drilling out

hey guys, what do you think about drilling nos plates out?
i got this kit edelbrock
Square-bore carbs (50-75-100 HP) #70001

i'm looking for 150 HP and thought of drilling plate out, would that affect performance of it?
is that bad? any advice would be thanked

Buy the bigger jets. What are you trying to drill? The jets?

You can go up to 125HP with that system, I had one exactly like it. Once I put 150HP jets and got very little improvement from 100HP jets.

The solenoids and rails can't support power levels beyond 125 HP. Drilling the rails will only ruin them. The solenoids won't flow enough anyway.
If you want more power, you need to buy an upgrade plate kit, like this:
Code:

I upgraded mine to this same plate and got amazing results. I am spraying 175HP now and will go up to 200

Of course, higher nitrous levels need work, timing adjustents, correct plugs and gap, good octane, etc. If your motor isn't prepared, you'll kill it.

Give us a shout at the shop tomorrow. Dave is the guy to talk to about modifying those NOS plates. I think we have a big shot plate we are currently playing with in house.
