Default Fueling for nos fogger system

So Im building a heads cam lq4 nova. Its going to have a fast 78 ported intake and i got an awesome deal on a NOS pro shot fogger kit. I have been reading up a ton on this and read through the NOS instructions. It says that this should have a stand alone fuel system. My fuel pump for the car is a Weld-on 1100-A and and weld on says its good to 1300 HP. The engine should only be putting out around 500 on motor and i want to spray 175-200 shot. Now the real question

Could i "y" off the main fuel line to a seprate regulator for the NOS system since it seems like its better to run a low fuel pressure for direct port systems.

The engine is going to be fuel injected so that is going to be of a higher pressure and thats why i ask if i can "Y" off and go to two seprate regulators.

I have searched around for the answer and can find much.

Thanks,
Tim

You can run a separate regulator. That would allow you to both run low pressure and have the ability to make fuel pressure adjustments to aid in tuning.

If you are going to run e85 or high octane fuel in the main tank you will be golden with this setup.

If you plan on running pump gas, the stand alone would still allow you to get extra octane into the cylinders by filling it with high octane fuel. That is the only positive to the stand alone over the independent regulator.

Ohhhh, I did not know that was the reason why people ran stand alone systems. Thank you. Would there be a problem running 93 with this type of system if i tune it safely?

thanks,
Tim

You can certianly handle that size of a shot on 93. The extra octane will open up the tuning window some and allow for more power tho. So having some c16 or other high octane fuel would not be bad idea.

Extra octane can also help keep the pistons together when your still on the learning curve of tuning a nitrous car.

Sounds like a plan. You can always give us a shout when you need something. Or if you just need a little tech.
