Default Plug indexing?

Do you guys index your spark plugs? Make sure the open end faces down? I work on a sprint car and we index the plugs to be sure to get the best burn possible. Does anyone do this and should i worry bout doin it?

Go for it. It requires installing the plugs with the heads off the engine, correct? Most people aren't pulling the heads off their car's engine so it isn't done. Maybe I am wrong?

I believe to index plugs they should be pointing towards the exhaust valve. just mark the plug with a sharpie so you know where the open gap is pointing. no need to remove heads for indexing plugs!!!!! you will need shims to get it right. I'm running N2O so I index my plugs. do they help? might not on my lousy street-n-strip 5xx+ rwhp car, but top dogs do it. anyways, it makes my feel more confident about what i'm doing..
