Default 1250 PSI in the shade?

I had my bottle filled for the first time today, and my gauge is reading 1250 PSI. It's 96 degrees today, but the car has been in the shade. Is that normal, or did they overfill the bottle?

Do you all just ice your bottles to get them to a safe pressure for spraying?

Where do you have the bottle? Is it under the glass hatch(as in contact from sun)? I've had a bottle in an 02 GT(real trunk) and my C5(compartment in hatch). Neither have direct access to sunlight and I've seen the pressure as high as 1100-1150 on the hottest of days. If the sun is hitting your bottle I can definitely see those pressures happening.

Nope, it's in the trunk in the spare tire well. It honestly doesn't feel that hot today with the overcast, so it's hard saying where it will be at when the car is in direct sunlight, and that makes me a little nervous.

Absolutely. 96 degrees is still going to be plenty hot (even in the shade). I would imagine your in car temps far exceed 96*. Couple that with a fresh bottle fill and 1250 PSI is certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

To help remedy you could always take her out and give her a good hit from the bottle!

Now it's parked in my garage after a 20 minute drive, which is three walls of cinder blocks and like an oven, and the bottle is at 1400 PSI.

Take the bottle out. Leave it in the house or some where else with climate control until the bottle has some of the contents used.

Used bottle? Bad gauge? Did they weigh the bottle before and after? How many lbs is your bottle? How many lbs did you pay for? I watch whoever is filling my bottle. My bottle is 15lbs and has a 10lb sticker on it. (Error by Nitrous Outlet)

Brand new bottle. The gauge read 0 when uninstalled, and was brand new as well. It's a 10lb bottle, it currently weighs 24.8 lbs, the label indicates that is what it should weigh when full.

I'll leave the bottle in the house and report back what the pressure is since I know the temp in here.

I have my 10 lb bottle in the spare tire spot to and with a full bottle a 96* mine was reading 1400. I'm just going to leave mine out during the day while I'm at work cuz there is no shade anywhere. It's a breeze to put in and out with the foam holder I made no braket to f... with. But it does get hot in there!

At 80* ambient temperature, the bottle reads 975 PSI.

Does that sound correct? If so, am I just going to have to fill it with 7 or 8 lbs, instead of 10?

Fill to 10 lbs and keep the temperatures below 95 degrees.
Keep an eye on the pressure and either cool the bottle or vent pressure to maintain a maximum of 1100. (for safety reasons)
You should not be exceeding 1050 psig when spraying.(for performance reasons)

OP those pressures are common to see with that temp outside. Keep it in the house while you aren't using it. My bottle did that when full but once a few lbs gets used it will be fine. Also I don't think your nitrous solinoids will activate @ that high pressure. I know mine won't if the pressure is above 1100.
