Default Mallory 685 help please

I hook the box up today using the MSD adapter harness, I am 99.7% sure that the box is installed correctly, yet the car won't start. I disconnect the box and she fires right up. I reconnect the box....nothing. I leave the box connected and use the bypass harness and she fires up. The start retard is set at .01, I have played with it all the way up to 10* of start retard. What am I missing?

I just received the box from summit, it wouldn't be the first time I received a bad ignition part. I think I'm going to send it back come monday. I've tried fooling with it half the day still no luck.

I'll send the box back tuesday, but before I do I'm going to pull all the wires and start from the begining.

Ok, I took all the wires out and rewired it on wire at a time.....still no start. I use the bypass harness from the box and bam, fires right up. Box is going back.
