bottles in hot temps
Is it okay to leave your bottle in the car when it gets hot outside ( like 100 degrees )? Its going to get pretty hot inside the car, I don't know how hot the bottle needs to get to reach a certain pressure.
Hi BigSS, I live here in South Florida and the heat is very much a real problem in the summer.
Here's what I do to combat the heat problem.
Get youself a silver coated or aluminized window sun screen and cut it to properly fit the NOS bottle... Then Buy the NOS bottle blanket and put it on top of the now custom fitted sun screen installed on the bottle.
Make sure that the blow down tube is properly installed, should the bottle lose its contents it will be vented outside the car. Don't roll your windows all the way up leave them down just a little for heat exchange.
Park in a shady spot whenever possible.
I've been using this kind of a set up in a 1993 Corvette ZR1 now for years with no problems.
And the bottle is mounted right under that big rear glass hatch right there in the sun.
Hopes this helps. <img src="images/icons/cool.gif" border="0">
I did the same in my '01 SS

It's happened to me before, it took about four hours of heat in a black car with the windows up and direct sunlight though. It was about 95 outside. It wasn't a big deal except the fact I lost $40 in about 10 SECONDS!!!
