Any reason I can't do this.... Just finishing up on installing a Fast 102R intake with a Nitrous Outlet direct port on my LS7 427 Camaro. This is the 2 rail system with 2 solenoids on each bank. My first thoughts were to progress a 400 shot as a single stage using my Edelbrock controller. I think now I want to use it as a 2 stage system...hit bank 1 instantly (200 shot) with the controller from the line and off the transbrake. Then let the controller time in bank 2 (200 shot) maybe 1 sec out. I believe it will 60' better not pulsing the first hit but still have the capability if track conditions are poor. I can't think of any reason the engine would be damaged from hitting 1 bank before the other. Any thoughts out there? http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/c...SS/FAST010.jpg |
You just dropped all the money on this intake and have to ask this question? You don't think it will cause problems that your direct port nitrous injection is only injecting nitrous into 4 of 8 holes? |

There are lots of setups out there using timers too spray 4 out of 8 to start and then the 8. Makes for a low cost controller and works great. The only ones I know of are doing it on opposing cylinders. I can't think of any reason why it can't be done on 1 bank at the time. |
I seen a thread about this on yellow bullet before. There were guys saying they have done it with no issues |
Well if it is possible then it is news to me. Personaly I would never consider it. Seems like the most foolish thing to me. If you really need to run two stages then run one on a plate or nozzle and the other on your DP. |
I personally wouldnt do that. I would just put a plate on it hit it with 200 from the plate then bring in another 200 on a progressive |
Using a plate or nozzle will defeat the purpose of going direct port.....combustionable mixture in the intake. Also the individual runner tuning capabilities. |
Sweet intake. I would first of all contact DAVE at Nitrous outlet or Chris. They are better to help you and experienced in this area. |
why not use the progressive like it suppose to be used? |
Guys did that back in the day before they had good controllers like they have now. You'll be alot better off to just use the controller. And start off a little smaller than 400. Just sayin. |

The right converter can make or break any combo. |
It is called splitting the foggers for those that have never heard of it. I'd get a controller like the NLR NMS-1000 that can ramp the first half in, flat line that first half of the shot after it reaches the amount you want, and then ramp the rest of it in fully. |
I have a few customers that split the sides like you are talking about. For what you are doing I would just put a controller on it and keep it simple. I can not see any advantage for you by spliting sides other than creating a posibility of one side malfuctioning while the other works.. Dave |
