Default Stroked LT1 Ignition and Plug help...

Hey I've never used spray before but bought a Zex kit and planning on throwing a 150 shot on my motor, its a LT1 all forged stroker with -16cc Mahle pistons and port n polished stock heads with a comp cam xfi292, I run mgk irridiums but everyone is changing there plugs to br? Plugs, which plug would you nitrous pros recommend? Also I was referred by a buddy to get the mallory 685 for a ignition , would you say mallory 685 is the way to go? And help.would be appreciated?

I would say to use a br6ef plug on a 150 shot and I don't think I would go the mallory 685 box.

Here is a thread on a guy who went that route. I think he changed it up and didn't even use it.

Man, call me crazy but I don't see how a standard.copper plug is better then irridium lol and the mallory 685 I'm looking at has a plug and play kit for lt1 cars, but does.the msd have a digital set up where you can male adjustments on the spot like the mallory, also does anyone know if it has a built in 2 step? Thanks!

Nobody said the iridiums were better or worse but from the price standpoint the regular br6ef is king. After watching the guy have problems in the link I sent you, I wouldn't use the mallory 685. With the msd you can add on the timing box of your choice from MSD. We have a SBC that we have a MSD 4 stage retard box and it is capable of 9* per stage.

An LT1 MSD set up will read like this for dual stage nitrous. MSD 6425 or 6420 ignition box , MSD Multi Stage retard 8970 or 8982 is the other , MSD coil 8226 , MSD wire harness adapter 8876 , & a window switch 8956 or 8969 (digital) If your runnin 2 stages & want MSD youve gotta buy 2. Otherwise get the NOS brand or Trick Performance dual stage window switch. LoL Ask me how I know??? I just bought all of my set up off of here & other sites Yes the mallory is all in one unit. But is it farmed out to china like accel & most others are these days? I used to use accel like crazy till the made in china sticker showed up!!!! Hope this helps

the BR6 is the plug I would suggest for motor....use the br7-8 for the 150 shot...also the 685 does work with the LT1 but I would stull suggest the MSD Digital 6 (built in timing retard and 2 step)...this will allow you to use any nitrous controller you want. For ease of install you might want to use Zexs window switch with your ZEX NMU.

Hope this helps
