Nitrous Legality?? Anyone know the laws?
I am keeping the bottle in my car without a remote bottle opener. I won't really be running it on the street for fear of doing a 360 when the juice kicks in with the already high HP I am making from my head and cam package.
My question is, if I get pulled over and some how a police officer finds the nitrous bottle while conducting a search of my car, would I get a ticked for it? What if the bottle is closed and there is no way of opening it from the inside?
Anyone know of a site, or have a document they could send me with some of the legality issues of nitrous?
Thanks,
Dan
Show me ANYWHERE in the V.C. that says you can't carry non-flammable gas is a non-commercial vehicle. Did a search of the CA Vehicle Code and saw nothing.
I seriously doubt you will find anything that says you can or can't have nitrous in a car in the Vehicle Code. They say nothing about Wheelie Bars, Parachutes, Flame-out systems, 15" wide DOT Drag tires, etc.
BUT.... If you get stopped at a street race hangout, be prepared to get a full body cavity search with no Vaseline.
