Default Timing Commander

Is there a timing commander that can be set up to pull x amount of timing when the n20 is armed?

So as to keep fuel economy and power where it needs to be while N/A , but being able to keep the N20 on tap for those times its "needed"

So thats the one i found , i was looking for something fairly simple though , and it looks like all the ones on msds site say they need to be used in conjunction with an msd gnition system.

The Lingenfelter unit installs in 5 minutes. 2 plugs to the coil packs, trigger wire to your nitrous button and tach wire from pcm to your rpm signal on timing box and you're done.

Or just hook a toggle switch to your coolant temp sensor. Wire the switch so when you flip it on it grounds out the sensor causing the PCM to think the engine is overheated. Then in hp tuners set how much timing you want pulled when this happens. Easy as pie and costs about a 3 bucks for wiring and switch.

Yeah but what about the cost of HPtuners since most likely the OP doesn't have it? Plus you can't change your timing in 10 seconds like the boxes.

Just a reminder the MSD unit will not show timing being pulled in your data logs if you are logging each pass.

If you use the LPE unit it will show timing being pulled in the data logs. IIRC it is the only unit on the market that will show the actual amount of timing pulled in the data logs since it is not fooling the cam sensor and plugs inline to the coil packs.

Not only that you get a two step also, which if you don't have a transbrake you can use a wot switch under you brake pedal or on the arm it attaches to so when you are on the footbrake with the switch flipped to arm the 2 step you can have a 2 step on the footbrake. If you did it like this and if it is possible to wire the LPE unit this way, I would put the timing retard on its own separate arming switch and the 2 step on it's own arming switch and then using the WOT switch to activate it on the brake pedal.

That way if you are driving down the road and want use your nitrous you can flip just that switch.

If you have a 6 speed you can wire the wot switch in the same manner on the clutch pedal.
