A4 and NOS question..
Honestly, should I worry about my A4 tranny and going with a 75-100 NOS shot max? I go to the track around 4 times a year if even that. Will not use it on the street. My other main mods are a ST3500 and all bolt ons. Will it last?? or should i start saving for a YANK/FLP tranny...TIA...
I run a 100 dry shot on my 5.3L truck (its a 4L60E tranny) the best thing I did to help save my tranny from any undue stress was to put in an MSD RPM activated window switch that turns off nitrous just before a shift - this way, the trans. doesn't have so much power running through it when its trying to do its biz. I have prob. 12 track runs and 8 street runs w/ a 100 shot and my trans is fine. I think you will be fine also.
Not to scare you or anything but i have the window switch set at 3000 and 5800 and after 1 track season my fourth gear is starting to ride a little bit when i am driving around town. I also have a 100 shot but still I am going to change my jets to 125. If my trans go then I will just get a new one. Hope i helped you a little bit.
I ran countless bottles through my A4 and ran 10.89@126 on the stock trani. There are plenty of folks that agree and disagree to the fact the stock trani can handle nos usage on a regular basis. I personaly had isssues with the trani a few times but not from nos usage. It was a shift selenoid which later was recalled on the 01's. If my 02' wasn't an M6 you better beleive I would have my dual stage nos setup on it as well.
