I have an independent fuel system for nitrous only in my other car. It's NOT my LS1 though, it's in my Civic. But a motor is a motor! It works great to run nitrous this way. You don't have to worry about the extra fuel for nitrous starving your engine. You can also do some of your tuning with fuel pressure and not worry about messing up the tuning when running your car NA. I highly recommend it.
But remember you cant have a fuel cell just sitting in your car. There has to be a 1/8" steel firewall seperating you from your fuel.
You might want to buy a steel 98 gas tank and weld a sump on to it. This might be cheaper then buying a fuel cell and fabbing a steel box around it.

Good luck,
Jeff

Ive seen several cars with independant fuel systems for the wet shot. I like the idea as you can just add the race fuel in small quantities to the secondary tank. The problem is room for the small cell. Relocating the batt in the back gives you some good options for mounting the aux fuel tank. JEGS has Jaz fuel cells for JR. Dragsters that come in 2qt and one gallon that may fit nicely. Then you would need a fuel pump and regulator.

The idea of turning on the fuel pump with the RPM switch sounds interesting. It may have to be more than a few hundred RPM though to make sure fuel pressure is constant before spraying. And I would also use a FPSS wired inline with that if you were going to use a window switch for fuel pump. I would be scared to death of a window switch malfuntion and having no fuel pressure.

If I do it I will probably use a toggle to turn the pump on and have another fuel pressure gauge so I can verify good psi before I spray the big ole wet shot. I like switches and gauges. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Default Inline fuel pump from fuel cell to wet kit...

The Colonel said in this post
https://ls1tech.com/ubb/cgi-bin/ulti...c;f=1;t=002027
"My advice is to go extreme on anything to do with the fuel system and install a FP gauge in an A-pillar pod where you can really see what's going on.
Right now I think I have WAAAAAAAAY more than enough fuel pump with the 340, 255, and BAP supplying the extra juice to them. But, everything else is so restrictive. I'm trying to compensate for a restrictive system by overpowering it. That's why I'll be reworking my fuel rail, line, and filter soon.
If I were you I'd run the fuel for the nitrous system independently from the motor. A fuel cell, a nice pump, fiter, and some big line. Your current fuel system will only have to keep up with what HP the engine makes NA. This would be the most surefire way to do it.

I use my car mostly for racing and this summer I'll be doing 150 wet shots with a NX kit. As per the above post for Colonel I was thinking. What if I ran from a fuel cell to the inline pump then to the fuel side of the NX kit. then hooked up a MSD RPM switch to the fuel pump so it would only turn on 100 or 200 RPM before the nitrous? Is this a stupid idea? Would it work? The other thought is I could use race fuel in the cell and only be using it with the nitrous. Any thoughts?

What ever I do I want it to be able to be used next year (2002) when i get a direct port system and dump more N2O. At that time I'll have my lower end re-done.
