NOS bottle opener problems
NOS bottle opener problems The bottle opener has worked many times in the past but this weekend it failed. When I go to open in I hear it try to open with a “Thoong” kind of sound and when closing it just gives me a “Click”.. Any of you experience this before? How do you fix it? Thanks in advance
Re: NOS bottle opener problems Take the solenoid apart. It has two plungers, one on top is the small actuation solenoid which is activated by the coil and routes bottle pressure to open and close the large plunger on the bottom...The solenoid will not work without a pressurized bottle attached. In my case it turned out to be the lower large plunger. The kit numbers from NOS are "The upper is a 16001 and the bottom is a 16690". Do take it apart first and find out which plunger is bad, the kits are not cheap. Around $40 bucks each. Hope this helps.
Re: NOS bottle opener problems How often does this thing fail? I have used it about 30 times.. If it fails 1 in 30 times for 40 bucks, I think I'll just start opening the bottle manualy and sell it.. Hmmm
