Backfire questions I'm confused <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
If you active your nitrous too soon (too low an rpm) what happens and why? Is this related to out-the-tailpipe backfires or up-the-intake backfires?

Re: Backfire questions Using nitrous at to low of RPM, you'll end up with to much nitrous in the cylinders at one time, the peek pressure when fired may be high enough to dammage the pistons and or rods, bearings, you also may experience a misfire because you don't have enough spark to light the mixture.
So using nitrous at a higher RPM(3000+)is safer and easier on the engine.

Re: Backfire questions HOLY CRAP! UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES RUN NITROUS WITHOUT A WINDOW SWITCH!!!! For a basically stock internals engine have the window set for 3200-5800 rpm or kiss your pistons,rods or crank good bye. YIKES, IF YOU DIDNT MESS UP YOUR MOTOR ALREADY YOU ARE ONE LUCKY NEWBY! Just a couple premature nitrous injectualations <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> and your taking the bus to work!
