I'm stupid - Help me
What is the best and safest kit to buy?
What accessories should I get?
What is the safest amount to use (I'm hearing 75 shot wet and 100 dry?)
Do wet kits deliver more power than dry kits (is a 100 shot of wet more powerful than a 100 shot of dry?)
What kind of times/hp/tq should I be making with whatever kit you suggest?
I'm not positive but aren't direct-port systems more extravagent-overkill?
What about dual stage systems?
I'm just looking for a little pick-me-up. I lost my first race to a supercharged Mustang on Saturday night and I didn't know it but losing sucks-especially when its that bad. I think the car and engine is great for everyday driving and I don't want to compromise that with a H&C package or a supercharger. I want to go the safest route and am ready to buy any and everything I need to do this as safely as possible. The last thing I want to do is invest in a new rear-end or driveshaft or axle. I'm all about investing in the gauge pod and gauges though-looks cool as hell. Which ones do i need/should I get? Sorry for all of the questions? Thanks in advance - Mike W.

Most people are having AWESOME gains with the TNT kit. It seems to be making the most power these days.
What accessories should I get?Complete N2O kit. NGK TR6 sparkplugs. mallory or MSD Window switch. NX Bottle warmer/remote opener (if you're lazy like most of us), maybe the NX switch panel give yourself a clean look in the cabin.

Do wet kits deliver more power than dry kits (is a 100 shot of wet more powerful than a 100 shot of dry?) Typically you'll want to run between 75-125hp on a dry shot. Most stick with the 100 shot. On a wet shot, you can spray more, because fuel is also delievered with the nitrous. You can spray between 100-150. Most chose to go with the 150 shot and usually don't have problems as long as you're not stupid with things.
What kind of times/hp/tq should I be making with whatever kit you suggest?
Look around. There was a recent post actually about what people were making with their TNT kits, and the results were amazing!
I'm not positive but aren't direct-port systems more extravagent-overkill? Unless you plan on spraying a LOT, then yes.
What about dual stage systems? Again, if you plan to run a lot of nitrous, then a dual stage is a great setup. Soemthing like a 75hp shot with a dry system and a 125 shot with a wet kit. People are FLYING with this kinda setup, but you've got to be careful and AutoTap is virtually a MUST when you're running something like this.
I'm just looking for a little pick-me-up. I lost my first race to a supercharged Mustang on Saturday night and I didn't know it but losing sucks-especially when its that bad.Yes it does. Especially to a Stang! But at least it wasn't a ricer.

You can run the nitrous safely and you'll see great power gains. You can add a nice split duration cam later on down the road which will respond very well to the N2O.
The last thing I want to do is invest in a new rear-end or driveshaft or axle. If you've got a 6 speed, you're going to need a new clutch to hold the power, as well as a set of tires (Nitto DRs). If you've got an A4, try gettin a good converter as well, they REALLY REALLY wake the car up. Something like a Yank 3400 Extreme would be a good converter for N2O use as well.
I'm all about investing in the gauge pod and gauges though-looks cool as hell.
Which ones do i need/should I get?
Autometer Dual Guage Pod (Part # ATM10210 at Speed Inc.) and probably a A/F Ratio Guage and Fuel Pressure gauge.
Check out www.LS1Speed.com or give Tom/Larry a call. They will be MORE then happy to work with you in setting up a safe/reliable setup and get you anything you need. They're usually the cheapest, and if they aren't tell 'em and they'll price match!
Good Luck, and I hope this answers your questions.
