Default Dry kit and no filter Track times

Well I finally made it to the track to try the 5177 kit out I ran motor the first two passes then went to the spray on the last run and only picked up 3 tenths and 4 mph on a 100 dry shot . I was trying to figure out why my times were not any better on the spray ? My first two runs I didnt have my air filter in and didnt put it back in when I ran the spray pass is this were I went wrong ?
How much difference would it have made if I had the filter in ? I have the MTI lid ... and yes you may call me a JACK *** if you wish ...

Yes, that's a no no for spraying dry. I found the same thing. Try it again with the filter in place and you'll be where you want to be.
