Default Direct port NOS question.....

How are these systems getting their fuel? I would assume that they are "carburetor" kits, and are running a seperate external low pressure fuel pump with a seperate 1 or 2 gallon fuel cell mounted somewhere, correct? What I am getting at is this: Can I take a $600 fogger kit, plumb it onto my intake, hook up an external fuel pump, add a 1 or 2 gallon fuel cell, and spray my motor into oblivion? Or am I missing something? Why the $2000+ for an XXX kit, this could be duplicated for well under $1000, and should be the same thing, correct? (Yes, I have and can bend and plumb the lines myself )

Most of the time the direct port nitrous is with a carb set up, but I don't see why you can't use your main fuel line with a regulator to get the right fuel pressure for that setup.
I think most people go for the other systems because they are easier to hook up(not having to bend tubing, plumb and tap the intake for the setup).
