hey guys, i just made a deal to buy a 5177 NOS kit.. Ive never run my SS at the track, so i dont know my quarter time.. Im wondering, if anyone of you know a round-about figure of what i will be able to run with my current mods (below).. and a 5177 kit set up with 75hp jets. Im runnin drag radials.. And my driving ability is pretty good.. Any ideas of estimated RWHP and 1/4 time/Trap speed..? Thanks!

 

You really can't guess what times you will run. Some run strong and some run weak. It depends on how your engine was built at the factory. I will tell you that you can cause some serious damage if you use the Hypertech power programming and the Granetelli MAF. They both bump up your timing about 4 degrees which will cause some serious ping. Keep using the hypertech for the other options but not the power tuning, and if you want to keep the MAF, I would suggest a MAFT or LS1 Edit programming.
I have a 2000 SS (A4) and ran 12.8 with just the CAI,Airlid and K&N filter, and BFG drag radials. 11.43@123mph w/ N2O

 

Hmm, didnt know that the GMAF and hypertech would cause damage with N20... The reason i want nitrous is so i can run N/A all the time, but when i want that extra juice, i have it.. Kinda like a S/C that you can turn off... 90% of the time i will not use the nitrous.. Now... would it be ok to keep the MAF, and keep the HTPP in the car and deprogram it when i want to use the N20? Also.. im not familiar with the MAFT or how to use it...
