Default Purge Kit and Window Switch Clarification / tuning

Read over the stickies and did a little reading on on threads but still have a few questions.

Here is my current setup.
Mod list on my LS1 from 04 GTO
Long tube headers
Single 3 inch exhaust
Short ram intake
walbro 255

The Sticky talks about the purge valve and how it's not really needed.
"What is a Purge Valve? This comes up alot, especially with the newer nitrous junkies. Purge is probably the most un-necessary part of a nitrous system." How many of you agree with this statement? The car might see the track 2 maybe 3 times a yr and if the purge kit is to remove air from the main line and eliminating the the system from bogging the engine due to the fuel hitting before the nitrous, causing the engine to go rich upon the initial hit and effecting my 60 ft times. Do i really need a purge valve?

The sticky also talks about how a window switch comes at 3k automatically, "It will come on at 3k and automatically shut off at 6k. (Providing it is wired correctly.) Some use pills while others just use dials or dip switches to set the corresponding RPM." I have a MSD window switch, i searched the MSD and Summitt site and couldn't find anything that says it pre-set at 3k, can someone validate this?

Also can you provide some recommendation on when i should have it on and off? With my oem redline at 6k, i was thinking about spraying from 4k - 5,800 rpms at WOT to be safe, thoughts?

Last question is around tuning, the sticky mentions that one should "DO learn to read the plug's heat range and tune it yourself.

i know how to take timing in and out but how do i add more fuel? do u have to do this within a tuning application such as HP tuners?

And how do i know what plugs to run if i plan on running a 125 shot?

Not absolutely necessary but if you are going to be running a wet kit, i would definitely recommend one. Otherwise your fuel will get to the nozzle/plate before the nitrous does.

If you have the RPM activated window switch then you will need to buy pills for the lower and upper limits that you intend to spray.

I wouldn't be afraid to spray down to 3000 rpms, however 4000-5800 is very safe. If you are not trying to maximize the setup than it should be fine.

Tuning software can add or subtract fuel from your tune, but if your NA tune is spot on, then you can tune fuel with the fuel jet.

NGK BR7EF would be recommended. It is a non-projected tip plug, 7 heat range
