Yeah, youll be looking for 5th gear at the traps. I get through the traps at about 6200rpm. On a really good run, higher. Raise your rev limiter, or do what I am considering doing.....3.90 gears.

Raise it to 8000. Then you will not have to worry!!!

Default question @ 4.10s and nitrous

i am thinking of running the bottle but i do have a moser with 4.10 gears. will i be shifting out of 4th at the traps? i run 26x10.5x16 ET Streets and have a 6800 rpm limit. i plan on running a dry 75-100 shot. i know i will have to baby it out of the hole as even right now i am having problems launching (1.72 is pretty common) with my combo i just dont want to change gears b/c i love them on the street. my car is lowered so 28" tires are not really an option.

TIA!

Go to www.f-body.org-gears- there is a great gear calculatorthere just follow the directionsand you will know the mph to rpm of your entire rpm span and all your gears that is where I found my best combo with an a4, 26" tall tire was a 3.50 gear in my Moser 9" It saved me alot of time and figuring out ratios. hope it helps

Hoosier makes an ET Street equivalent (Quick Time Pro's) in a 27" tall tire: 27x11.5-15. Tread width is just under 10".

They fit really nice on my lowered car.

They will allow for 130+ mph at 6600 rpm with 4.11 gears in a 6-speed car. It's a good compromise for those of us who want to keep the 4.11 punch and still not be maxed ot on N20. Now if they'll only offer this size in a full slick.....

The fronts are 15x3-1/2 with 1-3/4" backspacing. The tires are 165R-15 radials.

27 X 11.5 QTP'S are only 26 inches tall. I run them on my bird. I would recommend a true 28 inch slick such as the mt or hoosiers in a 28x10. Nitrous loves to be slightly lugged. If you just rev real quick you dont get the full benefit of the extra power.

I have my rev limiter set to 7000 now. With it set to 6800, running on a moser 12 bolt with 4.11s and ET streets 26x10.5x16 (mounted on firebird rims) I hit the rev limiter at 123mph. So if you want to trap higher than that, plan on making that shift into 5th.
