Default How much is too much?

I am planing on building up my LS1. Forged Pistons stock bore size, 6.2" forged rods, stock crank, GM LS6 CNC ported heads 11:1 CR, Lunati level 3 street cam, Hooker LT header, Y-pipe, dual cutouts, ported TB, 85mm MAF, and beefed up drivetrain. I am asking is 275HP of nitrous too much for the stock block and crank? N/A power I expect to be between 400 to 450 RWHP

275 on top of 425 will be pushing some serious HP. I think you should use a progressive controller or at least two stages or preferably a direct port setup. Also make sure you fuel system is up to par.

But I believe the stock crank can take it....how long...I dont know. Mine has taken atleast 50-75 WOT runs at approx 600-650 rwhp and even a few at 750 rwhp. Stock crank but iron block. Either way I believe youll be at the edge or reliabilty. At that level...anything can happen.

I'm shooting for a similar setup.. How much are iron, and c5r blocks going for typically? Also, if you plan to run N/A most of the time, should you still buy a nitrous piston?

On a stock crank ...... For that much rwhp, you will need all forged internals; crank, rods, pistons, O-Ringed block and heads. Also I would only do a 275hp shot through a Fogger.

It would be a two-stage 100HP then 275HP. My main concern is the block. I have seen motor with up to 750RWHP with the aluminum block. I have also read other groups still on the stock crank with medium hits of nitrous about 300HP. And the motor won't see the 275Hp shot very often.
