My buddy went 5.34 4 years ago with out of the box 245's and a 408. Seemed to work pretty good for a simple combo.

I have all the data for TFS heads... Tooley is 30mins up the road from me.

On this setup the heads will be fine especially with the big shot of gas he's gonna be running through it. I'm not so sure on the camshaft selection personally but maybe there is something to that cam that I don't know. It's worth a shot!
Yes, I understand that the LS3 style heads came on motors with 4 inch bores but take a look at the power of those motors. They really never break the 500 rwhp barrier as easy as the 4.065 bore motors. Why? The valve is shrouded too much.

When you throw a cathedral on there you are better with the smaller valves but give those 245's the same valves as the LS3 and watch them choke on a 4 inch bore just like the LS3's

Yep I agree a 2.160" valve belongs on 4.060" bore or larger however that is not the case for this combo with the 245 heads. The valves are no more shrouded than the 2.160" is on a LS3. I'm interested to see the results from this combo. I offered some dyno time to get the setup dialed in just for testing purposes and to see what it'd do at the track.

I agree with you that this is not the case but I believe that this is too much head for such a small motor. I would change my thinking if this was a solid roller high compression high rpm setup. Velocity is going to be poor and slow speeds are going to suffer. Big cam, big ports, and small cubes don't make a good recipe no matter how much spray is going to be on the motor.

Lil John did one not long ago that had a ridiculous size cam and on the bottle it woke up like a ****... I know it's not the norm but I'm still curious to see how it does.
