Why descreen MAFS w/nitrous?

Why descreen MAFS w/nitrous? I will be installing a NOS 5177 kit soon, and was reading the instructs. and they didn't say anything about descreening the MAF. Why does everybody descreen theirs? The reason I ask is I want to save all my stock, untouched parts in case I need warranty work, so if I need to descreen, I want to buy another one so I'll still have my screened one, but I'd rather not buy one unless I have to. Any thoughts or advice is much appreciated!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
Re: Why descreen MAFS w/nitrous? The N2O can freeze the screen and plug it up with ice. If you empty the bottle on the ground, you see that it leaves a pile of frozen N2O for a short time.
Re: Why descreen MAFS w/nitrous? I've also seen them get brittle to the point of where peices started flaking off of it. I wouldn't want to suck a section of screen down my intake.

Re: Why descreen MAFS w/nitrous? read ls1.com faqs section about nitrous. they say to descreen the maf so that the rich/lean mixture or whatever works better. go to www.ls1.com and read it first before you do anything. Ls1tech.com might have it to, but just not as familar with this site.
