Default plugs question

how can you tell when the plugs have gone bad? all my plugs look the same except the 2 front ones on the driver side. the plugs are almost completly red all the way around. does this mean its running lean or fat? or is it just time to change the plugs? i am running NGK TR-6's and have had them in for around 8,000 miles. any info or help you could give would be great. thanks

Red is usually an indicator of some type of additive or octane booster. All those octane booster in a can really do a number on your plugs. Id avoid them.
I usually change my plugs every 1000 miles if im spraying on a regular basis. If Im spraying alot...ill change them even more. Sometimes even less than 100 miles if Ive been racing at the track or have been racing on the street and Im about to go to the track. I check them often...and since they are so cheap...i can never bring myself to put old plugs back in. I am "plug paranoid" though. Espescially since im always changing up my combo/shot size. If you dont change much with your setup and dont spray too often or too big...id check them every 3-5000. After a while youll know how long they can be expected to last with your combo and can set your own interval.

i dont use any kind of additive or octane booster other than N2O. i never put any of those octane booters in can that you can buy at the gas station. i figure the N2O is more than enough booster on the motor when i spray it. but thanks for the info. i figured it was time to change the plugs anyway.

Some people need octane boosters to run n2o, more octane points doesnt give you anymore hp. It prevents detonation from having the n2o running.

It would be much better to mix crapgas and unleaded 104 rather than use octane booster.
