Default 200 shot or heads/cam and 150?

Which would be more damaging to the bottom end? Is the majority of the damage to the bottom end done from the sudden increase in cylinder pressure with nitrous or the total amount of hp the engine is making, OR is it from the excess amount of heat produced from so much nitrous?

Example:

A bolt on car making 350rwhp with a 200 shot would equate to roughly 550rwhp (depending on certain variables) Or a heads/cam car making about 420rwhp with a 150 shot would come to around 570rwhp. (once again depending on variables)

With the afore mentioned example (making sure tuning and fuel is set up correctly and the motor is not starving for fuel) which would be more likely to damage the bottom end?

I am thinking if you start spraying the 200 shot above 4500rpms or so the jump in cylinder pressure would not be as great and you could get away with the larger shot on the stock shortblock.

there are a lot of variables with your senerio.. the bottom line is HP is HP... HOWEVER... NOS DOES affect cyl pressure especially on a larger shot, due to the initial "hit" and lean condition... but a heads and cam engine will still have similar stresses to it as a NOS only scenario. the stock bottom end is still the weak spot. cyl pressure is the killer of stock pistons.. the initial hit is the hardest on parts not the HP level... well technically that does have an affect but i think you get the point within moderation. it is your pocket book that determines what is best for you.. personally i would go heads and cam route because the power is always there. the NOS is the equalizer when you bite off more than you can chew.. LOL.. bottom line is do what you feel.. again HP is HP.. in my opinion there is no right or wrong way to get it.. just what your willing to spend.. just remember if you want to run a lot of spray be prepared to spit more parts.. and be prepared for the motor to go.. becuase eventually it will... and just like going to jail there is no conveinient time it will happen.. LOL

I was thinking that the initial hit was the most "damaging" to the motor. I already have a Direct Port kit and will be getting heads and cam for the car within the next few months.

It was just something I thought about and wasn't sure on the answer so I figured I would post up and ask <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
