Fuel Pressure and Rev Limiter on Nitrous
And by done... I mean it aint moving for a while.
Got the fuel pressure gauge, fuel pressure safety switch, etc...
Now... Im spraying a 150 shot from a Nitrous Works kit.
Previously, I was spraying a 100 shot with the nozzle that came with the kit. Upgraded the nozzle so it would flow up to a 175 shot. Then I decided to move all my solenoids and rewire the system to clean it up. Got all that done, installed a FPSS to make sure fuel pressure doesnt drop below 50psi (it's actually set right too) and a fuel pressure gauge to monitor fuel pressure.
Now... I am worried about air / fuel ratio. It tends to normally run rich. Question is... if the fuel pressure runs at what it should (above 50psi at WOT) should I have any fuel concerns with the recommended jettings?
The questions come because I am getting some surging while on the nitrous, as well as smacking into the rev limiter, which I dont see as being a HUGE problem because fuel pressure doesnt drop below 50 psi, and it only hits once going into third gear.
I am planning on getting some programming done as a shop locally is offering minor programming for $65, which doesnt include engine parameters. I am planning on lowering the shift point by 1mph and also raising the rev limiter up to 6500 to ensure no problems with that. In addition, I am also scheduling a dyno day for a car club I am a part of, so I would be able to check A/F on a wideband O2 sensor.
Does this sound like an accurate way to fix the problem and remove any more problems?
