My nitrous was as up to come on at 4k rpm to keep from being so hard on the 10 bolt, I have a 9" now. My question is if I set it up to hit off the line will that hurt my trans?

 

What trans you have? Is it stock or built?

You can also use a progressive controller to bring the nitrous on over time and be less shock.

Yes it will be hard on your stock trans. I threw my 4l60e away & installed a 4l80e & im very happy with it on & off the bottle. 4l80e is a much stronger trans.

 

4l60's are not known for being the strongest transmissions. Even when built a lot of people don't like them for big power. 4l80's are a badass transmission and can be built to hold tons of power but they run like $2500. You can also get turbo 350/400's to hold tons of power but you will lose your overdrive gear and on the highway be turning a lot more rpms. A built turbo 350/400 can be had waaaaaaaaaay cheaper than a 4l80.
