first time i went to the track i ran 12.9 on motor and 11.8 @ 119 on a 150 shot (didnt spray out of the hole, still hurt the rear)... at the time i had 3.73 rear gears but i broke my rear and had to swap in another that had 2.73s. i took it back to the track this past friday and it went the same 11.8 @ 120 on a 200 shot. im happy with it its pretty quick on the street i plan on finding some 3.23 or 3.42 gears, they should be a good middle ground because i was running out of gear in the 1/4 with the 3.73s.

im a full weight 98 z28, plus im a big guy.... so prolly close to 4000 pounds maybe more. going from a 3.73 to a 2.73 rear gear really killed me i expect low 11's with a 3.42 rear gear. also when i went to the track this past friday it rained right before the track opened so it was hot and muggy not ideal running conditions.

Had a sbe 5.3 ,77,000 miles out of 04 tahoe in an S-15. Not sure on raceweight, only weight reduction was wheels, a/c, heat, sway bar, fiberglass bolt on hood, but put some heavy touring leather bucket seats and 160 lbs driver.

Mods :
carb swap
vic jr
Wilson Plate 73N/73F on 6.5 psi / 9 degrees pulled from 35 total
218/220 .535 lift cam 112 lsa
shorty headers
3in flowmasters w/ turn downs
th350
PTC 10 in 3800 nitrous converter
built 10 bolt with 3.73
Comp eng 90/10 front shocks
Rancho Rear shocks
Caltracs bars
275/60-15 MT Drag Radial

7.90 -8.0 @89 /12.30-12.40 @112 Motor
1.65 /6.70 @106/ 10.30 @130
6700 shift points leaving on motor and bringing kit in about 1-2 lengths out.

I had ordered some jets from Wilson to dial the tuneup in because it was still rich as eveident by the plug readings and backhalf mph, but, somebody wanted the truck worse than I did and sold it before I had a chance to. The guy that bought it from me didn't change tuneup, but , did leave on the kit several passes before breaking rear and went 1.38-1.40 / 6.40's 1/8.

My 5.3 cam only RX-7 has gone 12.2 @ 112 with a 1.67 60' on motor. I have yet to get it to the track with the 150 shot. It went 11.8 @ 119 with a plugged nitrous filter. I put in a wideband and found I was pig rich. Then I found the plugged filter, put a new one in, and holy cow! It really pepped up when it got nitrous! LOL. I'm curious to know if I could expect a 10.90 or so in my 3000 lb Mazda?

5.3, MS3-ish cam, ported 243 heads, Victor Jr, 750 carb, and a 175 shot. Went 9.7x in an average weight fox body. That was with very little tuning done. It had more in it if we would have played with the tune and suspension.
