Default Drilling & tapping holes for a direct port system?

Any special tricks on a LS6 intake? Is it as simple as drilling the hole, tapping it and screwing in the nozzle?

Nope. The plastic is too thin. You have to do something to hold the nozzles in - like epoxy.

I have a TNT kit on a LS6 intake and it has thread sealer on the nozzles. Nothing fancy <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I second the NOSzle system.. I love it.. there are other systems that work in similar fashion and you will get numerous opinions... I like my setup and on a 175 pill gives me 11.32's @ 132MPH on my Z06.. to each his own though.. but i wouldn't tap my manifold with the current offerings out there... just my 02..

Hey....

I have been wondering about updating my NX kit to a direct port fogger for quite some time. I have a head/cam (cartek) car with a stock bottom end. Cartek built a DP fogger on a car like mine and has ahd great results...I'm planning an engine buildup in the future once I get my shop cleaned up.

What kind of DP systems are you using? Does TNT make one that I can buy off the shelf or do I have to plumb my intake myself (which I don't mind doing)? What's the price tag on a project like this excluding labor (do my own work)? Finally, I'm looking to run 10's on my stock block before I upgrade the short block....are any of you guys out there running 10's with an M6 on a DP fogger????

Sorry so many questions!

It is real thin you have to be careful. Who's nozzles are you using? Nos are 1/16 pipe thread real small others are 1/8 pipe. The nossle system is great but caries a big price tag. Drill the hole center in the port at the angle you want. You want the spray from the nozzle to to hit the back of the valve to keep the fuel from puddling on the back of the valve. Now you have a hole in the port. The pipe thread is tappered. Don't tap it too deep! Get it started go in till the tap just comes out the inside and is threaded. Now try and start the nozzle. If it won't start don't force it. Now go a little deeper with the tap and try again till it starts. Once it starts do all the ports the same. When you install the nozzles for good a little pipe tape or sealer will be fine. Make sure you don't over tighten or it will strip out and then it is time for epoxy. If when it gets tight it is in the wrong spot try another wrap of pipe tape til it stops where it is supposed to be. Hope this helps any ?'s email me . Rich
