Default Nitrous Cam issue...

Curious... I'm finishing up my iron-block LS 5.7. I'm trying to decide on a cam I called Lunati on a custom ground & talked w/ Texas Speed as well. The Lunati seemed rather small compared to the TS&P choice. I'm putting a progressive 400 shot so I can basically pump as much as I want in it through a controller. It my first adventure into the nitrous application. I got a pretty good tuner so that's half the battle.

Tx Speed - 236/242 .601 .610@114
Lunati - 232/236 .603 ..610@114

5.3 bored 3.905
Lunati Rods arp rod bolts
Stock crank
ARP main & head studded

Better yet, what heads on going to be on here? Can't choose a cam without knowing what heads are going on the motor.

Just because the Lunati one is smaller doesn't mean it won't work well. There are alot of other factors than just lift and duration.

I have to decide... 243's or some milled 317's. I read where the exhaust duration is the big part....

Yes, but that still depends on the head. Ported or not is another question. 243's and milled 317's are the same thing. So any one of them you choose will perform the same

I've always heard a progressive controller is hard on the noids if you use them to shoot say only 50% of the shot and not having them wide open. The intake exhaust durations seems pretty close too, my custom spec cam is a 235/249 and 625 lift. It was setup for a stock bottom 6.0 with prc stage 3 243s and it loves spray, picked up over a second and a half and almost 20 mph on a 150
