Direct Port nozzle orientation question

Direct Port nozzle orientation question Gonna install my own direct port soon. Wondering if the orientation of the nozzle is critical. With the intakes we have, it seems easiest to drill and tap into the runner at a 90-degree angle. I assume this would be fine since the fuel/gas is coming out of the nozzle atomized.
Any other thoughts?

Re: Direct Port nozzle orientation question The nozzles on my LS6 Intake and sheet metall intake are not at 90 degree angles. The nozzles on the passenger side angle toward the firewall on the driver side nozzles angle to the front. The nozzles do look parallel to the angle of the head where the intake connects to it. The nozzle port is pointed to the intake valve.
You should take to whoever made the kit( TNT, NX, etc ) and get some details.

Re: Direct Port nozzle orientation question Thanks...got any pics? With our intakes being so crowded for room, options are limited for nozzle placement. I would think as long as they are pointed toward the intake port you'd be good to go.

As far as placement, I would tend to think it would be important along with orientation. I would think that the flow pattern on the nozzle should match the flow pattern of the intake. Having two different flow patterns might cause turbulance and produce less total flow. I am not sure, just thinking out load <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
