Default Nitrous plug question

Ok I have read every thread I can find on ls1tech and yellowbullet but haven't found an answer. I'm looking for the right spark plug for a 300 shot. I was told NGK B9EFS (#1085) would work but it is a non resistor type plug and will cause noise/interference with the ecu. I can't find a #9 cold plug that is a resistor type. What are you nitrous guys using for a 300 shot? Thanks in advance

Seems like some people have misfire issues and others don't. The lack of info on this is unsettling. Any veteran nitrous racers or sponsors care to chime in?

I have heard of a couple of people running theses plugs, but you do have a legitimate concern about the noise. You may want to give NGK a call and see what they say, their phone number is 877-473-6767.

Been using the b8efs and b9efs for years and no issues with any kind of interference.

Just got off the Phone with Holley (the car has a holley dominator ecu) and they don't have an answer for this either. They recommend loading it up with dielectric grease and trying my luck.

NGK says that but we have used the b9EFS since the early days of the LS motors. What fuel, compression and how much power on motor?

And you don't have an issue with noise/interference? Or have you done something to prevent it

Shiz and ATV, that is a gasket seat plug. Does your head call for a gasket seat plug? As you already know LS heads are angle seat. Would there be an issue running gasket seat plugs on angle seat heads?

No they don't call for gasket seat plug, they are stock LS casting heads. The plug ATV mentioned won't work for me but I asked him about the noise/interference because I see it is a non resistor style.

Shiz and others seem confident I won't have an issue, but if so many people are running these style plugs with no misfire issues why is Holley so concerned?

Has anyone tried NGK VB05E spark plug resistor cover on a non-resistor style plug to reduce/eliminate noise?

If you have an old head laying around, you can tighten the gasket seal ones down on it and make it fit like a tapered seat plug. I know NGK does not make a -10 tapered seat plug so thats really the only way I know to get a plug that cold for an LS motor

Seems to be an issue for some with the Holley ECU. Here is a post that got a lot of attention on bullet.

Thanks for the response but I have already read that thread. There is a lot of discussion but no clear answer. Seems to always be the case on forums.

You might want to post up on it for an update. I know the op has been running the car with the holly, but I don't know what plug he went with.

Still can't find an answer to this. I have talked to many "experts" and they all seem to have something different to say. I am going to try the 1085 and see how the ecu reacts.
