Default Bottle mounting tips for C6

I am trying to figure out a way to mount the bottle with a minimal amount of drilling in the trunk area. Ideas? I was figuring if I cut slits into the carpet I could just cover any holes back up, but I wanted to hear what others have done.

Thanks!

We have a mount for the C6 that you epoxy down and then mount your bottle bracket to: http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/97-04-c...er-side-1.html

I put a board under the carpet and mounted the the brackets to the board so I wouldn't have to drill holes in my vette.

I felt that going through the trunk recess and adding a plate on bottom side was the best/safest option. It concerns me that the bottle could fly forward in an accident if its not bolted down well. Of course, the floor is composite.

Note, NHRA requires "permanent mounting" and if in the compartment of vehicle, a vent tube to the outside. Permanent is not described, just no hose clamps or tie wraps.

You can always fill the holes w/grommets or something else if you remove the nitrous, but I would bolt that baby down.

How is the board secured in place? I saw others suggest this but no one seemed to elaborate on it.

Yeah, getting cracked in the head or replacing the windsheild would suck although I am not sure which one would be worse haha. I am not too concerned with the track regs as I don't go often.

The grommet/plug suggestion is a good one. Thanks.

Just take a sheet of plywood or mdf board that is 3/4 thick and is a 2 foot by 2 foot square and stick it under the carpet. The carpet will keep it from moving around and you mount the bottle brackets to it thru the carpet. Trust me, it won't move at all and no holes drilled into your vette.

Thanks, that makes more sense now. I will check it out.

Can I get the same pictures? I want to mount the bottle in my C6, but still need room for the targa top. Looking for ideas.

Don't get dad new socks or a grill brush this year.
