i was going to run 24 degrees for a 200 shot. you will want to have 2 tunes, because i found that a 24 degree nitrous tune ran like crap on the motor.

i still havent got all my bugs worked out yet, but soon i hope to spray the 200 shot to it.

I dont think timing should be as great a concern as A/F. Sure I wouldnt want to be running 30 degrees of timing squeezing 200 but 24-28 should be fine for 150 or under. I also wouldnt like two seperate edit files , one for nitrous and the other NA. I like this rule for a street car:

Set it up for NA, one flash. This means increased timing and a leaner A/F. If running a wet kit increase your fuel pill size to bring down your A/F ratio. This will give you the best of both worlds. If you have a dry kit, get a wet kit.

Thanks for the inputs guys...I guess I'm just being a bit worried about spraying again...blew a cylinder out on my first motor on the juice. I've seen some guys running some big shots on their stock bottom ends and just wondering what their secrets are.

Default LS1edit N2O tuning questions

OK guys...need to ask what you guys have done to increase the "safety" running nitrous. I have a stock bottom end LS1, stage 3 ported heads (11:1 comp), custom ground nitrous cam, headers,...I'm going to be running the NX Gemini MAF kit...probably something like a 75 shot at first before I upgrade the fuel system. Ever since I've done the h/c swap, it has been running rich, so I think I'll leave the fuel mixture alone to be safe. How much timing are you guys pulling out? Any other tips to be safe with the squeeze?

I'm also thinking of running two seperate programs on LS1edit...one for strictly motor, one for nitrous.

Anything will help me out here...I would like a lot of inputs from different set-ups!! Thanks for your time!!
Ken

For a 75hp shot, I would leave the timing alone. General rule of thumb is to pull 1 degree of timing per 100hp of nitrous.

Ken, i cna relate to the over caution this time around... LS1 edit works great for tunig nyour car but i would not do multiple profiles due to the possibility of hosing the ECM... the more you program it the more likely you might encounter a problem... I have LS1 edit fo rmy Z06 and i also havethe ramchargers timing computer which is a real cool product.. you can retard timing with nitrous activation of up to 12 degrees, advance timing both under and over 3k rpm, delay NOS activation, and also high rpm shut off so you don't spray into the rev limiter or if you bang a shift... very easy to install and program... i run a 175 shot and take out 9 degrees and it works awesome! see the sig for results.. good luck!!
